Annual Cug’s Trek for the Tree   December 3rd, 2008

This weekend we had a super time up at Cug’s Place to relax after Thanksgiving, start getting into the Christmas spirit, and then to get our tree.

We took a trip to the Vermont Country Store which is a short drive away (Take Rt 121 to Rt 11 west into Londonderry. Make a right onto Rt. 100, and go about 5 mi.  It will be on your right in the center of Weston). All sorts of unique items. A lot of old time products, specialty foods and cheeses (usually with a lot of samples to try), toys, clothes, candies. The kids insist on a trip to the store when we are at Cug’s.

The trek for the tree is something we do on the way home, since we go to Christmas Trees of VT, which is not close to Cug’s, but is close to 91, and therefore on our way home. It’s a tree farm that is right on the CT River, and they have free hot chocolate, an authentic Santa, and hay rides and more. (Directions)
